VIENNA, VA, January 5, 2021 — Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Alok C. Nigam with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Following nine years as the lead scientist at MITRE Corporation in Reston, Virginia, Mr. Nigam became the founder and chief technology officer of Global InfoTek Inc. (GITI). A premier company with expertise in enterprise application development and engineering, cyber and information assurance, applied research and development, and program management, GITI works to support homeland security and defense by defining, developing, deploying and supporting various software systems. Established in 1996 and located in Reston, the company notably serves as a major provider of cyber capabilities for the U.S. government.

Mr. Nigam’s success has included numerous research projects as a principal investigator. He has also devised several brand new technologies that are utilized by the military in combat and has built various technologies that have since been adopted in the intelligence community. In the coming years, Mr. Nigam plans to address the increasing challenges that plague the U.S. with respect to its barriers, including malicious hacking.

Dr. Nigam earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Maryland in 1985 and a Master of Science in computer science at George Washington University in 1990. He is a certified project management professional, certified service oriented architect, certified ScrumMaster and certified scrum product owner. Intrigued by the industry after developing an interest in creating artificial worlds, Mr. Nigam contributed over the early stages of his career building software systems, mainly for the U.S. government. He also studied research and development systems, through which he was able to explore new capabilities, which he found immensely exciting.

In supporting his professional career, Dr. Nigam has distinguished himself as a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He has also maintained his affiliation with the American Physical Society, the Association for Computing Machinery and the Association of Old Crows. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Nigam has been cited in the eighth edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and the 23rd edition of Who’s Who in the World.
